Girl, Interrupted

I can see why critics may be quick to regard this film as a cliched and discreetly pretentious melodrama, however this is one of my favorite because Angelina Jolie’s performance is absolutely amazing and each character stands on their own. If you like Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar and any literature that runs along the theme of “the depressed suicidal”, then this may be the film for you. And even if you’re not into that type of stuff, it’s still a good movie for what it’s worth.
