Pocket Money (L’Argent de Poche/Small Change)

This is a wonderful François Truffaut film that is often overlooked.  Pocket Money is all about the world of children, one of Truffaut’s favourite subjects.  It is not especially plot-driven as it jumps around between the stories and perspectives of several different children (of varying ages, I might add), but it is exceptionally entertaining all the way through.

This film is really worth watching.  I saw it for the first time when I was a young child, and it has become increasingly difficult to find since then, but now that it is on Netflix Instant I hope that it will be appreciated as much as it deserves.
