Pocket Money (L'Argent de Poche/Small Change)
This is a wonderful François Truffaut film that is often overlooked. Pocket Money is all about the world of children, one of Truffaut’s favourite subjects. It is not especially plot-driven as it jumps around between the stories and perspectives of several different children (of varying ages, I might add), but it is exceptionally entertaining all the way through.
This film is really worth...

Boot Camp
Netflix wrongly targets and labels this as a thriller horror movie, but wrongly so. Staring, Mila Kunis, this film is definitely not a teen slasher and is surprisingly good yet very entertaining. It’s about a girl who gets kidnapped and wrongly sent to boot camp in the middle of nowhere. It separates her from the boyfriend who tries to rescue her. My friend and I watched it and enjoyed it...

Sophia Scholl
“A dramatization of the final days of Sophie Scholl, one of the most famous members of the German World War II anti-Nazi resistance movement, The White Rose. “
I accidently found this movie when I was searching for the series, Scrubs! I liked the movie but this movie has a LOT of dialouge. If you are looking for action and whatnot, you probably won’t like this. I like this...

Take me home tonight
Funny & dorky in that 80s way, 80s pop culture references, 80s songs..good times.
Editor’s Note- Dan Fogler is pretty darn hilarious in this.

Trees Lounge
Don’t know if anyone has already submitted this, but it was a true gem to be found on netflix instant. A must-see for all Steve Buscemi lovers. When I read the netflix reviews, they varied from people raving over the genuineness and brilliant acting to people complaining about the depressing story of a drunk guy in his bar. From these I figured I would love it, and indeed did. Simply a...

Sweet Land
I have kids and my wife doesn’t like movies that have vulgar language, violence, subtitles, drug use, sex. Pretty much everything that I think is required for a movie to have any substance I end up watching alone at one in the morning. So, it is nice to find movies that have wonderful content that are family friendly. If you find yourself in a similar situation or just want to watch a good...

Maintenance
Okay I went through and deleted all the posts for movies that are no longer available on streaming. I also added tags like #movie, #horror, #family etc., to every post to make them more searchable. Now feel free to find a bunch of movies to watch so you don’t have to talk to your family this weekend.

Insidious
The parents (Patrick Wilson and the ever lovely Rose Byrne) of a comatose young boy find out there is more to their son’s condition than they ever could have expected. The film moves from creeping unrest to thrilling with perfect pace. More than cheap jump scares and with almost no blood and gore, Insidious actually had my heart racing and on the edge of my seat, and I don’t think...

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop
This documentary about Conan’s post-NBC live tour shows a side of him that the public doesn’t normally get to see. He has a darker sense of humor off-camera, and he frequently makes edgy jokes to coworkers and fans, but this movie really exposes the real Conan- the man behind the hair. There are a number of live songs interspersed throughout the movie, and bits of his live show, as...
